Johnnie Jones

Johnnie Frank Jones, age 82 , passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Stanly Manor. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 13, 2013, from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. in the Chapel. Dr. Darrell Huneycutt will officiate. Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel UMC Cemetery, Misenheimer. Military rites will be conducted by the Stanly County DAV. Born May 27, 1930, in Stanly County to the late Johnnie L. Jones and Mary Lillie Harvell Jones. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Carole Ann Frank Jones. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Ann Roberts and husband, Guy, of Richfield and Elizabeth Mary Gutierrez of Merced, CA; one brother, E. Lindsay Jones of Sanford; two sisters, Carolyn Lowder of Wingate and Eleanor Starnes of Albemarle; eight grandchildren, Alena Berlanga, Lindsay Simon, Devina Garza, Casey Simon, Sonia Gutierrez, Joshua Gutierrez, Chance Gutierrez, and Destinee Gutierrez; and 11 great grandchildren. A veteran of the US Air Force, Mr. Jones served in the Korean conflict and received the service medal and the Korean Presidential Citation.
