Johnny Blair Carpenter, 83, of Oakboro, joined his heavenly father on Sunday, December 26, 2021.
Johnny was born on September 11, 1938 in Marshville to the late Boyd Carpenter and Maggie Little Carpenter Huneycutt.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Carpenter.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara McLester Carpenter. He is also survived by two daughters, Blair Lee Carpenter of Charlotte and Elizabeth Cook (Chad) of Woodleaf. He also leaves behind four grandsons, Tyler Lovell, Michael Lovell, Hunter Lovell and Corey Lovell, and a great-grandson, Ryder Lovell, all of Woodleaf. He is also survived by two sisters, Peggy (L.D.) Morgan of Stanfield and Barbara Tucker (Mark) of Cottonville.
Johnny graduated from Oakboro High School with the class of 1956. He was a painting contractor for 55 years and owner of Carpenter’s Painting Service and Oakboro Insulation Service. He traveled for many years throughout the Southeast painting banks for Reliable Construction of Monroe. He was a member of Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church and former member of Oakboro Lions Club.
Visitation will be 2:00pm - 2:45pm, Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral will follow at 3:00pm. Burial will follow at Running Creek Church Cemetery, Millingport Road, Locust.
Memorials may be made to the Stanly County EMS at Red Cross. The family would like to thank the Red Cross EMS for all their wonderful help and also Dr. Chris Connelly of Concord.
