Johnny Chaney, Jr

Johnny Addison Chaney, Jr., 90, of Midland, passed away September 11, 2009, at his home. Mr. Chaney was a son of the late Johnny Addison Chaney, Sr., and Hilda Pearl Freeman Chaney. He was married to the late Sudie Mae Sloop Chaney. He was a mail carrier for the postal service, car salesman, veteran agriculture teacher, farmer, greenhouse operator, and WWII veteran of the United States Army. Survivors include sons; Johnny Addison Chaney, III, Howard Milton Chaney, daughter;Hilda Sudie C. Troutman, all of Midland, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and longtime companions Dottie Staley and Archie Utterback. Visitation will be Sunday evening, 6:30 - 8:30, Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland, with funeral service Monday, 2:00, Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, Midland, officiated by Rev. Gerald Lanier. Burial will be in the First Baptist Church of Midland Cemetery. Graveside military rites by Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard.
