Johnny Furr

Johnny Moss Furr, 69 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at his residence in Albemarle. Mr. Furr was born October 9, 1943 in Albemarle to the late Bill Moss Furr and the late Sarah Rebecca Lowder Furr . The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 2:30 pm on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel. Rev. Roger Thomas will officiate. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main St., Albemarle. The family meeting place will be at his home. Survivors include sister, Barbara Furr Morton of Albemarle; two brothers, Duke Furr, and wife, Patti, of Albemarle and Ronnie "Rip" Furr and wife, Charlene, of Lake Norman; nieces and nephews, Kricket Morton, Kyle Morton, Leigh Ellen Furr Roberts, and William Furr; and fiance, Kaye woods of Winston Salem. A graduate of Wingate College and East Tennessee State, Mr. Furr was a commercial insurance broker. He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Albemarle. Memorials may be made to the Stanly County Humane Society, 2049 Badin Road, Albemarle, NC 28001. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Furr family.
