Johnny Griffin

Johnny "J.T." Griffin, 70 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at home in Albemarle.

J.T. was born March 14, 1944 in North Carolina to the late Herman Rosco Griffin and the late Hazel Virginia Griffin. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Evelyn Hatley, and Ruby Taylor; brothers, Buck Griffin, and Bruce Almond.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, July 25, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Saturday at 3:00 pm at Canton Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Mark Mabry, and Rev. Joe Smith. Burial will follow at the Canton Baptist Church Cemetery at 24615 Endy Road, Albemarle. At other times the family will meet at the home of Linda Griffin at 26601 Parker Rd., Albemarle, NC.

Survivors include close friend and caretaker, Linda Burleson Griffin of Albemarle; daughter, Marie (Joel) Martin of Albemarle, NC; daughter, Brandy (Ricky) Hopkins of Albemarle, NC; brother, Larry (Phyllis) Griffin of Oakboro, NC; sister, Helen (Jerry) Huneycutt of Locust, NC; sister, Freddie Fink of Mount Pleasant, NC; grandchildren, Dakota (Cody) Hopkins, Ava Martin, Cameron Martin, and Kayden Hopkins; very special nephew, Chris (Valerie) Burleson of Albemarle, NC.

J.T. loved spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren; they were the pride and joy of his life. He love all of his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
