Johnny Mauldin
August 28, 1946 — December 30, 2009
Johnny Lamar Mauldin, 63, of 618 Spring St. SW, Concord, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at Universal Healthcare in Concord.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, January 3, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Albemarle at a later date.
Mr. Mauldin was born August 28, 1946, in Stanly County, to the late Vance Mauldin and the late Mary Wilhoit Mauldin. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, having served in Vietnam. He retired from Mecklenburg County Schools, where he was a teacher. He also coached youth baseball in Concord and Huntersville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gray Mauldin.
He is survived by his son, Bryan Mauldin, of Charlotte; brother, Mickey Mauldin, of Columbia, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews.
