Johnny Mooney, Sr

Johnny Jack Mooney, Sr. age 81, of Midland, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2012 at his home. Johnny Jack Mooney, Sr was born on August 24, 1931, to the late Harry William Mooney and the late Virginia Josephine Yates Mooney. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Scott Mooney; and two brothers, Ronnie and Bobby Mooney. Johnny Jack Mooney, Sr is survived by his sons, Johnny “Jack” Mooney, Jr. and Mickey Mooney; five grandchildren, Jordan, Landon, Emma, Luke and Bradley Mooney; and sister, Lana Linker. The family will have a private family service. Mr. Mooney served his country honorably during the Korean War, and played baseball for the U.S. Air Force while stationed in Germany. As an ex-athlete, he enjoyed spending his time coaching baseball and football.
