Johnny Lee Whitley, 71 years of age, of Harrisburg, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 at his home.
Johnny was born September 28, 1944 in Charlotte, to the late William Whitley and the late Helen Garmon Whitley.
He was also preceded in death by son, Paul Jaye Whitley, and sister, Evelyn Hargett.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm, Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will follow at 5pm in the funeral home chapel.
Survivors include wife of 45 years, Brenda Howie Whitley of Concord; son, Johnny Lee (Katherine) Whitley, Jr. of Charlotte; daughter, Trina (Mike) Rushing of Charlotte; daughter, Melissa (Phil) Lovelace of Concord; sister, Margie Blackwelder; brother, Billy Whitley; sister, Nonia (Jimmy) Polk; brother, Paul E. (Vivian) Whitley; sister, Linda Arrington; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Courtney, Kaylan, Darius, Madalyn, Alex, Ashlyn; and three great-grandchildren.
Johnny loved his wife, family, and was a wonderful grandfather to his beloved grandchildren. He was a lover of Chevy classic cars and NASCAR racing.
