Jonas Tucker

Jonas Hoover Tucker, 81, of Albemarle, NC passed away on March 28, 2011 at the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 31 from 6-8 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The service will be held Friday, April 1 at 12 PM in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Kinza Memorial Cemetery. Military rights will be conducted by the Stanly County DAV. Mr. Tucker was born in Stanly County on April 25, 1929 to the late Matthew and Dora Tucker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ruth Whitley Tucker. Mr. Tucker is survived by his daughter, Teresa Ritchie and husband Tony of Albemarle; brothers, Joe Tucker, George Tucker, both of Florida, Bill Tucker of Concord; granddaughter, Stephanie Ritchie; and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Stanly County DAV, PO Box 112, Albemarle, NC 28002. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Tucker family.
