Joseangel Montalvo

Joseangel "Jose" Ambriz Montalvo, Sr., 84 years of age, of Harrisburg, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at Carolinas HealthCare University in Charlotte.
Jose was born October 8, 1932 in Devine, Texas to the late Jose Montalvo Jr. and Julia Ambriz Montalvo. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jane Montalvo, his son, Joseangel "Joe" Ambriz Montalvo, Jr., and brothers, Felix , Ramon, Tony and Pedro Montalvo.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be on Friday at 11:00 am at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord in officiated by Rev. Tim Newton. Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park Harrisburg at 12025 University City Blvd., Charlotte.
Survivors include four daughters, Angelita (Randy) Miller, Anita (Ron) Traver, Rosita (Rick) Blackwelder, Consuelo (Brian) Souders, brother, Jesus Montalvo and two sisters, Juanita Gonzales and Maria Cantu. Twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Jose was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, NC. He was a machinist by trade, retiring from IBM. He is best remembered as a very hard working, loving family man and a friend to many. He was an excellent and talented woodworker spending many hours creating, repairing and refurbishing beautiful wood items from art to furniture. Jose will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
