Joseph Edgar “Eddie” Brown, Jr., 54, of 2317 Sandy Lane, Albemarle, NC passed away on June 28, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. A memorial service will be held at 7 PM on Thursday, June 30 at Stony Hill United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends after the service. Rev. Lanny Lancaster will officiate. Mr. Brown was born in Mecklenburg County on July 4, 1956 to the late Joseph and Sybil Brown. Known as the “Eyeglass Man,” he owned and operated Eyeworks as long as his health permitted. Mr. Brown is survived by his wife Donna Brown of the home; son, William Joseph “Will” Brown of Albemarle; sister, Chrystal McNeil and husband Mark of Charlotte. Memorials may be made to C/O Donna B.
