Joseph Clark

Joseph Ray “J.R.” Clark, 73 , of Oakboro, passed away, Thursday, July 12, 2012 at his home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 15, 2012 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be Sunday, July 15, 2012 at 5:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel. Rev. Bob Gruver will officiate. At other times the family will meet at the home of his son, Michael, 17438 Frog Pond Road, Oakboro. Born March 30, 1939 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of the late Albert Lee Clark and the late Ethel Keply Clark. He is survived by his sons, Michael “Twig” Clark and wife Becky and Daren “Dogwood” Clark and wife Kellie, all of Oakboro; grandchildren, Daniel Clark and wife Courtney, Eric Clark and fiancée , Heather, Jeremy Clark and Haylee Clark; great granddaughter, Alivia Clark and sister, Grace Mauldin of Albemarle. J.R. was a devoted father and grandfather, master wood craftsman and handyman. He loved animals and riding his motorcycle with his friends and family.
