Joseph Green

Joseph Henry Green, 91, of Charlotte, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021.

Joe Henry was born January 12, 1930 in Luray, SC to the late Money Henry Green and the late Minnie Gilyard Green.  He was also preceded in death by infant daughter, Elizabeth Green, and sister, Alene Beatrice Green.

Upon graduating The Bronx H.S of Science Joe Henry enrolled in West Point Academy.  He joined the Army and served in the Koren War.  Joe Henry continued his education upon being discharged from the Army earning his Doctorate in Psychology at St. John's University.  He worked at the Lexington school for the Blind as a Counceller for serval years before changing his career to focus in industrial sector where he worked until his retirement.

Joe Henry dedicated his life to Jehovah and was baptized on Nov 4, 1975. He went on to marry Elizabeth on June 12, 1976.  Joe Henry served as an Elder for many years. He worked closely with the Bethel Branch assisting is securing partitions for the construction of Kingdom Halls though out the United States.

Joe developed many long lasting friendships as he faithfully severed Jehovah. He was always known for the love he had for his family and his friends became his family.  He enjoyed bowling, playing cards and dancing with his friends and family. Joe was known to always be there for anyone who needed assistance in any matter.

Survivors include beloved wife of more than 44 years, Elizabeth Roman Green of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Daryll Green of Parkersburg, WV; son, Jeffrey Joseph Green and wife, Lisa, of Las Vegas, NV; son, Kyle Green of Las Vegas, NV; son, Joseph Green of North Babylon, NY; daughter, Danna Green Furlow and husband, Ronnie, of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Michal Green of North Babylon, NY; son, Joshua Green of Gastonia, NC; daughter, Ashley Green of Charlotte, NC; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A private "Celebration of Life" will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, January 22, 2021at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg, officiated by Jeffrey Green.  The service will be webcast live; https://video.ibm.com/channel/drygeSYpxX7
