Joseph Hicks

Joseph Greenlee Hicks, 89 years of age, of Badin, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015, at his home.
Mr. Hicks was born November 7, 1925 in Stanly County to the late Harloe Omry Hicks and the late Charlotte Greenlee Hicks. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Carl Bain Hicks.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm, Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 1:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Pastor Sid Martin and Pastor Dan Abernathy. Burial will follow at the Stanly Gardens of Memory at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.
Mr. Hicks was a veteran of the US Army Air Force during World War II and the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Badin.
Survivors include wife, Aleene Hicks of Badin; son, Joseph "Joey" Richard (Cheryl) Hicks of Wingate; daughter, Brenda (Wallace) Humphries of Albemarle; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and brothers, H.O. Hicks of Albemarle and Jim Hicks of Badin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County and The Uwharrie, 960 North First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001 and Badin Baptist Church, 28 Falls Road, Badin, NC 28009.
