Joseph Lippard

Joseph Weist Lippard, 89 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Forrest Oakes Healthcare in Albemarle.
Joseph was born May 12, 1925 in Millingport, North Carolina, to the late David Smith Lippard and the late Esther Troutman Lippard. He was also preceded in death by a brother, George Rufus Lippard.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at the Oakwood Cemetery, 461 Church Street North, Concord.
For many years, Joseph owned and operated Lippard's Grocery and Service Station in Millingport.
Survivors include sisters, Betsy Morgan of Myrtle Beach, SC, Martha Smythe of Jupiter, FL, and Betty Sue Rhye of Charleston, SC; nieces, Martha Ann (Sal) Morgan-Rini of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Betsy (Michael) Rossin of Jupiter, FL; nephews, Norman (Carrol) Morgan of Christiansburg, VA, Ed (Katie) Howard of Columbus, GA, Terrell Rhye and Ken (Cindy Kay) Rhye, both of Charleston, SC; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews; and soul mate and best friend, Norleen Page of Mt. Pleasant, NC, along with all her children and grandchildren which Joe considered his "second family".
Memorials may be made to Shriners' Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605; NC School for the Deaf or NC School for the Blind, both with an address of 517 W. Fleming Drive, Morganton, NC 28655.
