Joseph Poplin

Joseph Monroe Poplin, 76 years of age, of New London, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 at his home in New London.

Mr. Poplin was born February 17, 1939, in Stanly County to the late Wriston Newell Poplin and the late Suna Lilly Poplin.
He was also preceded in death by sister, Mildred Hartsell.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at 11:00 am at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Steve Combs. Burial will follow in the Poplin Family Cemetery, Ellen Road, New London.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Juanita Washam Poplin of New London; one son, Shane (Jill Klosterman) Poplin of Albemarle; two daughters, Kelly (Bill) Morean of Red Lodge, MT, and Kim (Mike) Sheehan of Orlando, FL; three grandchildren, McKenzie, Madison, and Nicholas Morean; and two sisters, Pat Dick of New London and Judy Moore of Oakboro.

Mr. Poplin was a veteran of the US Navy.
