Josephine Pierce

Josephine  Pierce, 95, of North Wilkesboro, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Wilkes Assisted Living in North Wilkesboro.

She was born October 29, 1927 in North Carolina to the late James Garfield Cox and the late Effie Almeda Cox.
She was also preceded in death by husband, Elwood Pierce, sister, Mary Virginia Burleson, Grace Barbee, Jewel Eakes, Christine Crumpler, and brother, James Curtis Cox.

Josephine loved gardening and was a hairdresser for many years; after that she worked at Kiddie Kare. She was a member of West Albemarle Baptist Church for many years.

A graveside service will be on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Fairview Memorial Park, 1425 E Main Street, Albemarle, NC, 28001.

Survivors include her children Mary Jo O'Barr (Ken) of Goshen, KY, Curtis Pierce (Sarah) of Eden, NC and Susan Vannoy (Tom) of Purlear, NC, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
