Josephine (Jo) Plyler Stoker, 81 years of age, a resident of Stanly County for most of her life, passed away Monday, July 27, 2015 in Marietta Georgia.
Mrs. Stoker was born January 8, 1934 in Richfield to the late Elbert James Plyler and the late Lela Cline Plyler.
Mrs. Stoker was preceded in death by husband, Reggie Franklin Stoker, her sons, Terry Franklin Stoker and Timothy James Stoker; and two sisters, Edith Plyler Morgan and Jane Plyler Steagall.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Richfield Baptist Church with Rev. De Hillyer officiating. The family is looking forward to receiving friends at the church following the service.
Mrs. Stoker is survived by her daughter Mitzi Stoker West and husband, Rodger of Marietta, GA; granddaughters Lauren West Yancey and husband Warren; Carolyn West Phillips and husband Chase; great-grandchildren West and Charlotte Yancey; and her brother, James E. Plyler, as well as an extended circle of loving friends and family.
She was a loving wife, a devoted daughter, wonderful mother, a beloved grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Stoker was a member of Richfield Baptist Church for over 50 years where she was a willing volunteer and gladly served in the nursery and Sunday School.
