Josie Huneycutt

Mrs. Josie Varner Huneycutt, 86, of Locust, NC, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011, at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albemarle, NC. Mrs. Huneycutt was born August 8, 1924, in Montgomery County, NC. She was preceded in death by her father, Milton L. Varner and mother, Ethel Thompson Varner. She was a member of Oakboro Church of God. The visitation will be 12:30 – 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 22, Freedom Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, Coley Store Road, Locust. The funeral will begin at 2:00 in the sanctuary at Freedom Baptist Church. Rev. Daryl Sykes and Rev. Danny Long will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at her home, 20741 Coley Store Road, Locust. Survivors include her husband, Thaddaeus, of the home; sons, Edward Thaddaeus Huneycutt and wife, Judy, of Troy and Paul Alan Huneycutt and wife, Tana, of Locust; daughters, Lorene Huneycutt Osborne and husband, Steve, and Louise Huneycutt Hartsell and husband, Cecil, all of Locust; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
