Joyce Austin

Joyce Thomas Austin, 66, of Marshville, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021 at her home in Marshville, NC.

Joyce was born February 25, 1955 in Concord, North Carolina to the late Clinton Albert Thomas and the late Hazel Liles Thomas.  She was also preceded in death by brothers, Jeffery Allan Thomas and James Clinton Thomas.

The family will receive friends from 2pm-3pm at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church prior to the funeral service. The funeral service will be at 3:00pm, Sunday, September 12 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Marshville, NC. The service will be officiated by Pastor John Miller. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Survivors include husband of 47 years, Boyce Austin of Marshville, daughters, Selina Austin and Michele (Jason) White, both of Marshville, grandchildren, Caitlin, Gabriela, Clinton and Jasper, sisters, Cynthia (Royce) Austin of Marshville, and Amanda Thomas Evans of Rockwell, NC, as well as many, many nieces and nephews whom she loved and adored.

Joyce worked for many years at Tuscarora Yarns, Stanly Knitting Mills, and the City of Monroe.  She loved to travel especially if it was to a beach somewhere.  She was a loving and devoted wife, sister, mother, nana, aunt, cousin and friend.  She will be missed by all that were fortunate to know her.

Memorials may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Hospice of Stanly County.
