Joyce Clark

Mrs. Joyce Loretta Clark 68 of 3830 Pineleaf Circle of Midland passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast in Concord. Born on March 8, 1942 in Ithaca, New York to the late Charles Kastenhuber and the late Edna Bell Kastenhuber. Joyce grew up on the Rine in down town Ithaca off of Cherry Street where she enjoyed swimming in the inlet and hanging with her family and friends. She was a waitress at the State Diner where she was loved and had many friends. Joyce moved her family to the Carolina’s in 1989, where she made many new friends and touched many new hearts. She was a member of Howell Baptist Church, and was involved with Meals On Wheels Of Cabarrus County. After her retirement Joyce became a homemaker and spent time enjoying her family. Joyce’s door was always open to all the children in the neighborhood. She enjoyed playing Bingo, card games, and Yatzee with anyone that would sit long enough. She also enjoyed being in the sun out at the pool with her grandchildren, and working in her yard. Joyce was a devoted wife and loving mother. The family meeting place will be at the home. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 6 until 8PM. Funeral services will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 11 AM. Survived by: husband of 42 years, Ronald Clark of the home; sons, Kalvin Smith of Ithaca, NY, Gary Smith of Ithaca, NY, Kevin Clark of McClure, OH, daughters, Tonia Brammer of Midland; Darrick Clark of Midland; brother, Raymond Kastenhuber of Ithaca, NY; seventeen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Mom, though we only got to hold your hand for a short while, we will hold your heart forever.
