Joyce Hatley

Joyce Barbee Hatley, 76 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast in Concord.

Joyce was born July 9, 1941 in Stanly County to the late Tommie Reece Barbee and the late Emma Eugene Helms Barbee.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lambert Hatley, who died in 2015, and an infant son, David Landon Hatley.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:45 pm, Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 1:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by Chip Alsobrooks. Burial will follow at Big Lick Baptist Church Cemetery at 626 Big Lick Road, Oakboro.

Survivors include son, Jeff Hatley of Oakboro; two daughters, Debbie Cress and husband, Bruce, of Concord; Kathy Hahn and husband, Todd, of Locust; two grandsons, David Hatley and Joshua Cress; one great-grandson, Brayden Hatley; and three brothers Glenn Barbee, Tommie Barbee, and Gene Barbee.

Memorials may be made to Big Lick Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 626 Big Lick Road, Oakboro, NC 28129.
