Joyce Helms

Joyce Lynn Helms, 71, of Concord passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Mrs. Helms was born August 15, 1949 in York County, SC to the late Leroy Queen and the late Jennie Queen.
She was also preceded in death by her late husband, Robert W. Helms, III. Joyce Lynn “G/Maw Maw” Helms was a dedicated Christian, and a member of Roberta Baptist Church. Joyce was a devoted mother and grandmother, her love for her family only matched by her love of Jesus Christ. Joyce spent most of her adult life retired, and taking care of her family. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up. Although she didn’t travel much she absolutely loved the beach, and getting away on her yearly church retreats. Joyce was always the life of the party, one of the most loved people at any function. Joyce loved talking on the phone, but you better be sure you block out an hour of time for her. She always had things to say. She will be deeply missed by her family as the hardest part of losing someone isn’t having to say goodbye, but rather learning to live without them. Always trying to fill a void, the emptiness that’s left inside your heart when they go.

The family will receive friends and family from 1:30pm - 2pm on Thursday, January 7,2021 at Resurrection Baptist Church, in Kannapolis ,The Memorial Service will follow in the church sanctuary, officiated by Pastor Tim B. Jones. Service will be streamed on Resurrection Baptist Church Facebook page for those unable to attend.

Survivors include daughter, Janet Helms of Concord, NC, Son, Robert Frady & Wife Tammy Frady of Fort Mill SC, Grandson, Colby Helms & Wife Hayley Helms of Concord NC, and Granddaughter, Abagail Osorio of Concord NC.

Memorials may be made to the Helms Family in the form of plants sent to Resurrection Baptist Church 5615 Old Salisbury Concord Rd, Kannapolis NC 28083. The Helms also ask that you take a moment to hug your family and loved ones, cherish every moment that you have because time waits for no one.
