Joyce Staton

Joyce Riley Staton, 77, of Concord, passed away Friday, December 6, 2019.

Joyce was born March 8, 1942  to the late James Olin Riley and the late Julia Measmer Riley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vonvel William Staton; brothers, Gene Riley of Atlanta,GA and Ray Riley of Lowell, NC.

Joyce loved to garden, take pictures, sewing, and spending time with her family. She also like to travel when she was able. Joyce had a great sense of humor and would make everyone laugh,  she was apart of a breakfast club with a close group of friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at New Hope Worship Center. The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 2:00 pm at New Hope Worship Center in Concord officiated by Pastor Dale Jenkins and Dr. Tom Snipes. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

Survivors include daughters, Lorrie Castonguay (James) of Stanfield, NC, Kim Sharpe of Concord, NC, Patty Kneeburg of Midland, NC; and Deb Furr of Charlotte, NC; son, Lynn Staton (Tanya) of Concord.  She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to COPD foundations and Hospice of Cabarrus.
