Biography Permelia "Joyce" Tucker, 87 years of age, of Midland, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at her home.
"Joyce" was born December 9, 1929 in Cabarrus County to the late Emmitt Clint Black and the late Annie Pope Black Vanderburg.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Arlin Jerry Tucker Sr.; three brothers, Joe Ben Black, Bill Black, and Coy Black; and three sisters, Avous Liles, Kathleen Flowe, and Smaro Sossoman.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm, Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Bethel United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the church sanctuary and will be officiated by Rev Mark Clontz. Burial will be at the Bethel United Methodist Cemetery at 12700 Idlebrook Road, Midland.
Survivors include three sons, Arlin (Faye) Tucker, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC; Michael J. (Linda) Tucker of Wilmington; and Douglas (Donna) Tucker of Midland; six grandchildren, Olivia (Mike) Steed, Jason (Brooke) Tucker, Tia (Adam) Alfred, Marc (Aleigha) Tucker, Chandler (Jessica) Tucker, and, Cameron (Stephanie) Tucker; five great-grandchildren, Rachel Callie, Brayden, Gabe, Chloe, and Donavan; and sister, Mary Ann Black of Midland.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's charity of donor's choice.
