Julia Ann Clontz Hinson, 83, of Monroe, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021 at her home in Monroe.

Julia was born February 18, 1938 in North Carolina to the late Theron Clontz and the late Ona Lee Little Clontz.
She was also preceded in death by husband, Warren Pliney Hinson; sisters, Florine Clontz Crook and Mary Alice Blackman; and granddaughter, Anna York.

The family will receive friends from  2:00pm - 2:45pm, Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Crooked Creek Primitive Baptist Church in the Fellowship Building. The funeral service will follow on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 3:00pm in the chapel at Crooked Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Monroe officiated by Elder Richard Broadway. Burial will follow at the Crooked Creek Primitive Baptist Cemetery at 7920 Crooked Creek Church Rd., Monroe.

Survivors include daughter, Glenda (Phil) Parker of Monroe, NC; son, Leon C. (Harriette) Hinson of Monroe, NC; sister, Beverly Carnes and brother, David (Audrey) Clontz and sister-in-law, Blanche Clontz all of Monroe; grandchildren, Robert (Kara) Hinson, Rachel (John) Baucom, Callie (David) Green, Joshua Rape, and Josiah Rape; and great-grandchildren, Harper Hinson, Hiram Hinson, Jaxon Baucom, Oliver Green, and Carter Green.

Julia will always be remembered for making Raggedy-Ann or Andy dolls, not just for her grandchildren but for all her friend's children as well. Julia loved gardening, sewing, and baking, especially baking cookies for the grandchildren. She was very involved in ancestry and genealogy for her family and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Julia's faith was the most important thing to her and she was a dedicated member of Crooked Creek Primitive Baptist Church for her whole life.

Julia will be fondly remembered by her coworkers and customers from Bank of America.
