Julia Curlee

Julia Blanche Moore Curlee, 83, of Norwood, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Atrium Health Stanly in Albemarle.

Blanche was born February 13, 1938 in North Carolina to the late Floyd Wilson Moore and the late Nettie Thomas Moore.
She was also preceded in death by husband, Gerald Clayton Curlee, and siblings, Lois Allen, Shelly Moore, and Billy Moore.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow on Thursday at 2:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Eddie Barbee. Burial will follow at  Stanly Gardens of Memory at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.

Survivors include children, Betty (Ervin) Simpson, Debbie (Trip) Norton, and Dennis Curlee; grandchildren, Jeremy and Derrick Simpson, Sherri Paul, Ryan McDonald, and Zach and Nathan Curlee; great-grandchildren, Aliza, Layla, Kayleigh, and Carson Simpson, Jill and Gabby Paul, and Isabel Curlee; and sister, Jean Carpenter.

Blanche loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid gardener and gained an interest in flowers from her mother who was a florist.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
