Julie Blake

Ms. Julie Blanche Blake, 92, of Oakboro, NC passed away on March 22, 2011 at Stanly manor in Albemarle. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 23 from 6-8 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. At other times, the family will meet at the home of her daughter, Betty Huneycutt in Oakboro. The service will be held Thursday, March 24 at 4 PM at First Baptist Church of Oakboro, with a 30-minute state. The interment will follow at Oakboro cemetery. Dr. Terrell Watts and Rev. Chip Alsobrooks will officiate. Ms. Blake was born in Oakboro, NC on March 31, 1918 to the late Arthur and Sophronia Thomas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Newsome Little; second husband, O.M. Blake Sr.; son, William Thomas Little; brother, J.V. Thomas; step-son, O.M. Blake Jr.; and grandson, Stuart Little. Ms. Blake is survived by her daughter, Betty Little Huneycutt and husband Joe of Oakboro; son, Doug Little and wife Ellen of Oakboro; step-son, Don Blake of Conover; sister, Eunice T. Little of Oakboro; grandchildren, Donnie and Chris Huneycutt, Steve, Clint and Roy Little, Jennifer Little Morrow; great-grandchildren, Halee and Wesley Huneycutt, Bailee, Blair, Courtney, Nick, Holly and Jack Little. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Oakboro, 322 N. Main Street, Oakboro, NC 28129; or to Hospice of Stanly County 960 N. First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
