Julie King

After fighting a long battle with cancer, Julie Ann Safrit King, 61, of Concord, finally received her wings on June 20, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center - Northeast. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord on Friday, June 22, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 4500 Rimer Road Concord, NC on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Julie was born on January 29, 1951, to James Allen Safrit and the late Doris Alice Safrit. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Lamont King. She is survived by a daughter, Hannah Barnhardt and husband, Brandon; and a sister, Debbie Safrit Rahme and husband, Earl, all of Concord; and her beloved pets, Dooney and Katie. Mrs. King was a teacher at Cabarrus County Schools. She loved her work and found pleasure in helping children learn and grow. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the King family.
