June Allen

June Colleen Newton Allen, 79 years of age, of Mount Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

June was born March 31, 1936 in North Carolina to the late Dewey Lee Newton and the late Myrtle Love Newton. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Vivian, Edna, Doris, Helen; and brothers, Buck and Norman.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday at Miami Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Robert Howard. The burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord.

June was the most hospitable person one would ever meet. Her loving home was always open, she loved hosting parties and everyone was welcome at her table. June's favorite time of year was Christmas.

Survivors include daughters, Claudia (Dan) Starrette of China Grove, Iris Hatley (Mark) of Kannapolis, Shelia Pratt of Georgia, Angela Blackwelder (David) of Concord, Autumn "Twinkle" Caldwell and husband Sam of Mt. Pleasant; sons, Claude Edward Allen (Bonnie) of Mt. Pleasant, George Scott Allen of Mt. Pleasant, Mark Stephen Allen (Loretta) of Mt. Pleasant; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and her sister, Iris Wiley of Florida.
