June Morgan

June Elizabeth Morgan, 94 years of age, of Oakboro, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at her home with her family by her side.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Friday, June 2, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 17236 Frog Pond Road in Oakboro officiated by Dr.Wayne Bennett and Rev. John Butler. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Born June 30, 1922 in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of Louis Sladen and Bertha Stere Sladen. June was a nurse for 40 years. She retired from Stanly Memorial Hospital after 25 years of service working in I.C.U. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Graham Morgan. Survivors include son, Robert "Bobby" Morgan, Jr. and wife, Andrea, of New London; daughters, Lynn Shimpock, and husband, Eddie of Oakboro; Becky Cuthbertson, and husband, Don, of Weddington; and Candy Burris Corne, and husband, Bobby, of Oakboro; Granddaughters, Heather Leigh Campbell, and husband Jim; Kelley Helms, and husband Jeff; grandson, Jared Troublefield, and wife Chelsea; grand-daughter, Morgan Troublefield; grandsons, Alex Cuthbertson and Zachary Burris; great-grandchildren, Blythe and Braxton Whitley, and Brantley Troublefield; and step-grandchildren, Lainie Cribb, Lea Winter, Megan Murphy, and husband Chris, and Stacy Salyers, and husband David; step-great-grandchildren, Abigail Isenhour; Brynn and Kate Cribb; Emma and Alyssa Murphy; Marleigh Salyers, Lauren, McKenna, and Jimmy Campbell

June was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for 67 years. She directed the first "G.A"'s for the church, was a WMU director and a Sunday School teacher. She had a great passion for missions. June was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family.
