Mr. Junior Lee Brattain, 81, of Monroe, NC, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Lake Park Nursing in Indian Trail. He was born January 28, 1929 in Stanly County, NC to the late Marshall Dewey and Sadie Ada Eudy Brattain. He was also preceded in death by a step-son, Kevin Burleson. Mr. Brattain is survived by his daughter, Sandra Huneycutt and Sherrill of Monroe; granddaughter, Tammy Ridenhour and Art of Monroe; Debbie Tarlton and Layne of Monroe; granddaughter, Wendy VanDenbosch and Scott of Concord; Jessica Oliver and David of Monroe; Jennifer Towner and Eric of Cornelius; grandson, Jeremy Tarlton and Ashley of Polkton; daughter, Reecia Barefoot and Jim of Denton; grandson, Sammy Jermane and Kenny of New London; daughter, Janet Lee Brattain of Richmond, Va; granddaughter, Jamie Lee-Carol and Dylan Ferguson of Fayetteville; daughter, Alechia and Lee Smith of Peachland; granddaughter, Brittany Smith of Peachland; granddaughter, Carey Smith of Peachland; daughter, Mellissia (Missy) Bates and Alvin of Peachland; grandson, Timothy and Devin Taylor of Polkton; granddaughter, Taylor Bates of Peachland; brothers, Rayvon, Harlan and Jerry Brattain of Stanly County; sisters, Jeanette Hartsell of Locust, Loretta Barbee of Locust, Nancy Eudy of Locust, wife Betty Collins Brattain; and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, June 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home’s Midland Chapel. Rev. Kinney Wallace will officiate. Burial will follow at Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to thank Lake Park Nursing & Rehab Center for the care given to Junior Brattain during his stay.
