Junior Lee Hartsell, age 80 of 14332 Liberty Hill Church Road, Oakboro, North Carolina 28129, passed away on December 22, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center NorthEast in Concord. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm Monday, December 27, 2010 at Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Big Lick Baptist Church in Oakboro, the Rev. Jeff Springer will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by Stanly County DAV, Chapter 12. At other times the family will be at the home, 14332 Liberty Hill Church Road in Oakboro. Born in Stanly County on March 4, 1930 to the late Sebastian and Lectie Huneycutt Hartsell, he was also preceded in death by a grandson Landon Matthew Murphy. Mr. Hartsell was a Production Control Manager for C&A in Albemarle. He was an active and loyal member of Big Lick Baptist Church, the longest serving deacon of the Church, a Sunday School teacher, Choir Director, and past Training Union Director. Mr. Hartsell served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, stationed two years in Japan. Junior Hartsell is survived by his wife Ramona Hartsell of the home; one son, Rocky Lee Hartsell of Oakboro, one daughter, Ginger Hartsell Murphy of Matthews; and one sister, Bessie Hartsell Morgan of Oakboro.
