Mr. Junior Robinson "Smokey Joe" Troutman, 83, of 6825 Hudspeth Road, Harrisburg, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2011. He was born on August 7, 1927 in Mecklenburg County to the late William Alexander and Dora Emma Love Troutman. Also preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Motley Troutman; second wife, Dorothea Marie Thompson Troutman; and children, Connie Browning, Deborah Wentz, and Alvin Troutman. Joe was a manager of Love’s Auto Parts for over 48 years. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord from 7:00 until 9:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Hartsell Funeral Home, following a 30 minute state. Burial will be at Harrisburg Baptist Church. At other times, the family will be meeting at the home of daughter, Rita at, 323 Windrose Lane SW, Concord. He is survived by daughters, Janice Carroll Douglas, of Locust, Linn Troutman Hartsell and husband, James, of Concord, Rita Troutman Hartsell, of Concord, and Robin Troutman Ford and husband, Mike, of Denver; step daughter, Teresa Sexton, of Charlotte; brother, Baxter McDonald, of Kannapolis; sisters, Kathleen Amis, of Charlotte, Mary Lou Huneycutt, of Charlotte, and Patricia Robinson, of Charlotte; grandchildren, Gerald Browning, of Washington, Richard and Brad Carroll, both of Lubbock, TX, Stormy Douglas, serving in the Navy, Amy Wentz, of Brownsville, TX, Cecilia Wentz, of Midland, Shanna Brumbaugh, of Gastonia, David Wilder, of Midland, Amanda Lambert, of Concord, Stacey Troutman, of Kannapolis, Alec and Austin Ford, both of Denver; and 11 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County.
