J.V. Hartsell

Mr. J.V. Hartsell, 94, of New London passed away on March 22, 2011 at Bethany Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Albemarle. The family will receive friends Friday, March 25 from 1-1:45 PM at Highland Baptist Church in New London, with the service beginning at 2 PM. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pastors Paul Crews and Doland Humphries will officiate. Friends may also pay their respects at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle on Thursday from 1-6pm and also on Friday from 9-12am. Mr. Hartsell was born in Oakboro, NC on November 17, 1916 to the late John and Ida Hartsell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Lambert Hartsell. Mr. Hartsell is survived by sons, Larry D. Hartsell of St. Simons Island, GA; Dale Hartsell of Landis, NC; a daughter, Phyllis Treece of New London, NC; a sister Geraldine Stewart of Oakboro, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
