Karen Kay Mount Eby of Midland, NC passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, November 15, 2009. Karen was born in Independence, Iowa, on August 30, 1940. She was preceded in death by her father, Navel Officer Marvin Mount and her very dear uncle and Aunt Kenneth and Elva Kirk of Waterloo, Iowa. She is survived by her mother Eileen and her siblings Jim Mount, Vicky Brown, Pat McLellan, Becky Owens, Christy Mount and their respected families. She is also survived by her two sons, Richard Webb and wife, Sonya, and son, Tyler of Matthews, and David Webb and wife, Kimberly, and son Timothy of Burlington, NC. Karen has many dear friends. Martha Ellen Kiker, Jim and Mary Little, Rhonda and Travis Sisson, and Jim and Faye Pepperl of Lexington, KY, to name a few. Karen has lived in many wonderful places including Florida, California, and Hawaii. Among her many interest and talents were hula dancing, tutoring for the Gaston Literacy Council, volunteering at Carolinas Medical Center, and helping raise her grandson, Tyler. She was also very active in her church. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Iannitti and Dr. Salmon and staff at CMC. Also, the blessed and dedicated people of Hospice of Charlotte. Interment will be performed by Pastor Mark Clontz at the Bethel United Methodist Church in Midland, Sunday, November 22, at 1:00 p.m. Instead of flowers, please support your local Hospice Chapter.
