Karen Lambert

Karen Joretta Purser Lambert, 63, of 136 Green Street SW Concord passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Born on August 19, 1947 in Cabarrus County to the late Heath Paul and Frannie Elizabeth Howard Purser. She was also preceded in death by her husband Paul Benjamin Lambert who passed away on March 27, 2009. Joretta was a retired office administrator for Concord Telephone Company, and was a member of Broadus Baptist Church. She was also a hairdresser and a caregiver for Marcie Moore and Nell Gantt who was like a second mother to Joretta. The family meeting place will be at the home. A visitation will be held at Broadus Baptist Church on Sunday, September 5, 2010 from 1 until 1:45 PM. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM at the church, with Rev. Rodney Quesenberry officiating. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery. She is survived by: daughter, Tammy Renee Talbert of Concord; grandchildren, Courtney Barbee, Britney Besmer and husband Andrew, and Heath Newton; great-granddaughter, Ansley Watts and her father Daniel; and also a dear loved friend who did so much for Joretta and family, Bud Whittington.
