Karin Sabrina Britt, 82, of Concord, returned home to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 22, 2024, and was reunited with her husband, loved ones and countless animals that have preceded her.
Karin was born December 11, 1941, in Berlin, Germany to the late Hans Georg Karl Schulz and the late Ingeborg Albine Schulz. She was also preceded in death by husband, Ralph Beamon Britt.
Survivors include son, Mike Britt and wife, Dawn; granddaughter, Corinne; grandson, Connor; sister, Evi Lambert; niece, Keely Lambert and her son Nikolas; nephew Markus Lambert and wife, Olivia and their children, Ainsley and Knox; brother-in-law, Terry Barfield; sisters-in-law, Coleen Bullock and Jewel Spence.
Karin met her eternal companion, Ralph Britt, in Berlin, Germany while he was serving in the US Army. They were married on May 9, 1961. Upon moving to the United States, they settled in Concord, North Carolina. She devoted her life to the rescue, care and wellbeing of animals. After working for many years with local rescues, she began her own animal shelter, HS Cabarrus Animal Rescue. In the last few years of the shelter, it was converted to a sanctuary that provided end of life care for cats and dogs.
Memorials may be made to Carolina Sanctuary and Rescue, Mount Pleasant Animal Rescue, Kitz and Katz of Kannapolis, and Team Cabarrus Search and Rescue.
