Kathleen Anderson

Kathleen Amott Anderson, 61, of Harrisburg, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2018 at CMC Main in Charlotte.

Kathleen (Kathy) was born March 7, 1957 to the late Calvin Charles Amott and the late Laura Beth Amott in Provo, UT. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph Amott and Mark Amott.

Kathy will be remembered for her love of the gospel of Jesus Christ, her family, and lifelong learning. She had a passion for literature, history, and travel. Giving service to others was a hallmark of her life, and one that allowed her to touch many hearts. In her young adulthood Kathy received a Master’s Degree from Brigham Young University in Library Science and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Milan, Italy. She and Curtis married in 1982 and raised their family in Clinton, Utah, until 2001 when they relocated to Appleton, Wisconsin. In 2012 the family moved to Harrisburg, NC.  Kathy was very involved in community and school service throughout her life.

Kathleen is survived by her husband Curtis Anderson; sister, Nancy Skidmore; brothers, Keith Archibald and Donn Amott; children, Blake, Rebecca, Burke, Holly, Clark, and Bonnie; and 16 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 PM - 7 PM, Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. The funeral service will occur the following day, Monday, November 26, 2018 from 11 AM - 12:30 PM with a viewing from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 2500 Rocky River Rd, Charlotte.
