Kathleen Brooks

Kathleen Hill Brooks, 87 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017.
Mrs. Brooks was born June 19, 1929 to the late James A. and Ola Huneycutt Hill. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Hobart Dee "HD" Brooks; grandson, Dustin Lee Brooks; and sister, Ramonia Mae Hill.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Friday, April 21, 2017 at Red Cross Baptist Church, Oakboro. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the sanctuary officiated by Rev. Garry Baker and Pastor Jesse Herring. Burial will follow in the Oakboro Cemetery at 1397 North Main Street, Oakboro.
Survivors include sons, Donnie Brooks and wife, Merle, Keith Brooks and wife, Donna, Wayne Brooks and wife, Devonne; sisters, Thelma Hill West of Royston, Ga, Phyllis Hill Garmon of Midland, Brenda Hill Eudy and husband, Coy of Locust; brother, Marion "Sonny" Hill of Royal Park Healthcare Center of Matthews; six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and caretaker and special friend Judy Shockley.
