Kathleen Kuenzi

Kathleen "Kathy" Ann Smerz Kuenzi, 72, of Concord, NC passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at her home.

Kathy was born September 24, 1948 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Merrill Oscar Lewis Smerz and the late Odell Alberta Ziegler Smerz. Kathy was married to Thomas "Tom" F. Kuenzi on November 7, 1981.
Kathy was predeceased by her husband Tom, parents, brother and granddaughter.

In 1984, Tom and Kathy relocated from Wisconsin to North Carolina settling in Cabarrus County, where they began a landscaping business working side by side until Tom's Death in October of 2010.
Kathy was a longtime member of Harrisburg United Methodist Church. In addition to attending worship (which she enjoyed until her health prevented attendance)she and her husband were active helping UMM annual Christmas tree sale. She was also an active volunteer in the HUMC food pantry, UMW, Lunch Plus Program and was a Senior Center Bake- off Champion!

Survivors include her daughter, Danielle "Dixie" Rae McKenzie of Concord, NC, sister, Sharon Geib of Concord,NC, and multiple nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service for Kathy will be held at her graveside at West Concord Cemetery on Wednesday, January 6th, 2021 at 1pm.  Due to Covid-19 Social distancing and facial masks are required.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rocky River Food Pantry located at Rocky River Presbyterian Church, 7940 Rocky River Road, Concord, NC 28025.
