Kathryn "Kat" Lanier Knotts, 84 years of age, of Midland, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Clear Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Mint Hill.
Kat was born November 4, 1931 in Gaston County to the late William Percy Lafayette Lanier and the late Hallie Estelle Lee Lanier. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Elise, Lucielle, Madge, and Viola; and brothers, Bill, George, and Robert.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM, Monday March 7, 2016. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, 6401 Hickory Grove Rd., Charlotte, NC 28215.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Joe F. Knotts; children, Doug (Beth), Darrell (Janice), Ronnie (Elaine), and Barry; eight grandchildren, Amy (Scott) Bauguess, Josh (Kelly), Stephen (Christy), Rose and Mary Knotts, Bobbi (Jason) McLaurin, Marian and Grady Knotts; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, David (Ann) Lanier.
Kat retired from Delmar Studio. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be sorely missed.
Memorials may be made to Hickory Grove United Methodist Church.
