Biography Kathy Elaine Starnes King, 66 years of age, of Concord, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast in Concord.
Kathy was born October 21, 1949 in Cabarrus County to the late Ernest Starnes and the late Lula Jane Wiggins Starnes. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Boyce, Bobbie, Jimmy, Tommy, Michael, and Alphus Starnes; and sister, Shirley Haas.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Jim Milton King of the home; daughter, Denise Duncan of Concord; sisters, Lynn Harvey of Harrisburg, Vera Hanson of Oregon; grandchildren, Devin Eudy, Heather Duncan, Laycee Duncan; great-grandchild, Gracelyn Eudy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kathy will be remembered for being a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She was born and raised in Midland. Kathy worked at B & D Mart for many years. She then went to work as the manager at Fairview Grocery. Kathy was beloved by her family and friends and will be missed immensely by all who knew her.
