Kay Lee Harwood

Kay Lee Harwood, 83, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at home.

Kay was born January 30, 1941 in North Carolina to the late John H. Furr and the late Bertha Furr. 

She was also preceded in death by husband, Hal Emsley Harwood, brother Kenneth Furr, 

Kay was a wonderful wife to Hal for over 60 years, a loving mother to her children. Taking care of her family and supporting them was the most important part of her life. Kay was co-owner and book keeper of Piedmont Electric until it closed. 

The family will receive friends from 6pm-8pm on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 11 am on Monday, January 27, 2025 Hartsell Funeral Home Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Elder Dale Brown. Burial will follow at the Stanly Gardens of Memory at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.

Survivors include sons, James Douglas Harwood (Tiffany Ann) of Albemarle, NC, Michael L. Harwood (Starla) of Albemarle, NC, grandchildren Corey, Grady, Megan, and Maddie Harwood.
