Kay Howell, 72 years of age, of Midland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 21, 2015, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Howell was born October 27, 1942, in Cabarrus County, NC, to the late U.G. & Lucille Benton Pope. She was also preceded in death by her son, Tony Howell.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm - 8:00pm on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Bethel United Methodist Church, officiated by long-time friend Bishop J. Lawrence McCleskey of Lake Junaluska, NC, and Rev. Mark Clontz. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Ira Howell; son Bobby Howell and his wife Ann, and granddaughter Alicia Scott and her husband Stephen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church Building Fund, 12700 Idlebrook Road, Midland, NC 28107.
