Kay Morrison

Kay Ellen Starnes Morrison, 62 years of age, of Midland, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at her home. Kay was born November 16, 1950 in Monroe to the late Jerome Calvin "JC" Starnes and the late Mary Kathleen Helms Starnes. She was also preceded in death by a son, Mickey Fredrick Morrison, Sr.; and grandson, Mickey Fredrick Morrison, Jr. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Friday at 4:00 pm, following a 30 min. state at Bethel United Methodist Church in Midland, with Associate Pastor Dan Sullivan officiating the service. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will be meeting at the home. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Fred Gaylen Morrison of the home; son, Wendell Parks Morrison of Midland; daughter, Monica Lynn Morrison Lynn and husband Tony of Lincolnton; brothers, Jerome Starnes, Donnie Starnes, and Michael Starnes, all of Monroe; sister, Pat Helms of Monroe; and grandchildren, Dakota Lynn and Taylor Lynn, both of Lincolnton. Kay was the manager for CVS Pharmacy, and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Lupus Foundation of America, PO Box 418629, Boston, MA 02241-8629.
