Keith Parker

Keith Earl Parker, 68 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center in Albemarle.

Keith was born January 23, 1948 in Cabarrus County to the late Thomas Wayne Parker and the late Hattie Lougenia Baucom Parker Hinson. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard and Tommy Parker; and step-brother, Bobby Hinson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at East Albemarle Church of God, officiated by Rev. Harry Harward. He will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. The burial will follow at Randall's United Methodist Church in Norwood. At other times, the family will be gathering at his sister, Phyllis Carver's home, 39329 Holly Ridge Rd., New London.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Sherry Lou Stirewalt Parker of the home; daughter, Amanda Speight and husband Tommy of Randleman; son, Jason Parker of Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandson, Charlie Speight of Albemarle; brother, Gene Parker and wife Kay of Jamestown; sister, Phyllis Carver and husband Ernest of New London; step-sister, Janice Bost and husband Sonny of Aquadale; step-brothers, Virgil Hinson and wife Debbie of Porter, Joel Hinson and wife Kay of China Grove, James Hinson and wife Linda of New London; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Keith was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He had a passion for music. He was known to be seen wearing his cowboy hat and playing his guitar. Keith loved the Lord and church. He was a charter member and trustee of East Albemarle Church of God. He also loved yard sales.
