Kenneth Forte

Kenneth "Gene" Eugene Forte, 73 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle.

Mr. Forte was born August 17, 1941 in North Carolina to the late Clifford Eugene Forte and the late Evelyn Irene Roscoe.

Gene graduated from Mars Hill College with a degree in Education. He taught and was an Assistant Coach at South Stanly High School. He retired with 31 years of service as a Right of Way Administrator at the North Carolina Department of Transportation. During his employment, he worked in every county in North Carolina.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The memorial service will follow at 6:00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Bill Roberts and Artist Roger Thomas.

Survivors include wife, Deane Whitley Forte of Albemarle; daughter, Kelly Forte Herrin and husband Chris of Locust; daughter, Ashley Forte Creasman of Greer, South Carolina; son, K.E. Forte, Jr. of Hendersonville; grandson, Christopher Herrin; uncles, James "Jip" Forte and Jack Kluttz; and numerous cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
