Kenneth Miller

Kenneth Norman Miller, 71, of Concord, NC and formerly of Stanfordville, NY, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Pruitt Health in Monroe, NC.

Ken was born December 8, 1945 in Dutchess County, NY to the late Lachlan John Miller and the late Agnes "Peg" Harriet Vincent Miller. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Peter Thomas Miller.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord, 460 Branchview Dr., NE. The funeral service to celebrate his life will be at 11:00 am on Friday, August 11, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. Dr. Mark J. Ericson. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his sons, Keith Miller and wife Kelly of Chelmsford, MA, Lance Miller and wife Tammy of Concord, NC; daughter, Jolene Henning and husband Keith of Greensboro, NC; sister, Sandy Miller of Maryville, TN; and five grandchildren, Patrick, Aaron, and Christina Miller, Maddie Jean and Sadie Henning.

Ken was a loving and wonderful father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He worked in field support and sales for IBM for over 25 years of dedicated service. After retiring, he was owner and operator of Boardroom Consultants. Ken served as District Governor and past President of Toastmasters, NC. He was also a certified conciliator for Peacemakers and served as a resolution counselor of NC Via De Cristo. Ken was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where he served as Chair of the Church Council and coached the women's softball team. In his earlier years, he was the Chief of the Volunteer Fire Department in Stanfordville, NY.
