Kenneth Story

Dr. Kenneth "Ken" Ervin Story, age 67, of 140 Carriage Club Dr, Mooresville, N.C., passed away Friday, June 19, 2009 at Churchill Assisted Living in Mooresville. Dr. Story was born July 9, 1941 in Stanly County. He graduated from Pfeiffer College and earned his PhD in English Literature at age 25 from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He taught English Literature on the college level for 34 years, mainly in Conway, Arkansas. He was the son of the late R. Stanford Story and the late Lula Mabry Story. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Story and a sister, Nancy Bragg. He is survived by two sisters, Elaine Smith and husband Mike of Durham, N.C. and Sue Herrin and husband Crendell of Mooresville, N.C. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Eltus Story, a brother-in-law, Larry Bragg, a special cousin, Pam Boles as well as many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Union Chapel United Methodist Church, 24361 Hwy 52 S. Albemarle, NC. On Saturday, June 27 at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will be in the Fellowship Hall 1 hr prior to the service.
